The future of genetics

“It is better to address wellness, not illness” – this seems to be one of the central themes of our interview with the eminent Dr Sharad Paul. In conversation with broadcaster Andrea Catherwood, he discusses many of the themes of his new book. His exploration touches on many aspects of health, nutrition, the power of having an awareness of our unique DNA and what this means in terms of personal responsibility for taking preventative measures with our health.
For example, 1 in 5 people do not absorb Vitamin C properly. Being aware of this now rather than 20 years down the track can have, he suggests, huge benefits. He also looks at data from various studies on waist size and cognitive ability, how the early eating habits of your grandparents can affect your DNA, and what this could mean for your future generations.
